Product Review: Annabelle Smudge Paint in Tar

This is a creamy, smooth, and nicely pigmented gel eyeshadow and liner by a Canadian company, Annabelle Cosmetics. I have picked it up at Superstore in Richmond, British Columbia, for 10.99.

PACKAGING:
  • Comes with an innovative built-in brush (the quality is so-so)
  • The pot container, at 2 g / 0.07 oz, is smaller than other gel liner pots for the same price
  • The opening of the pot could be wider for easier dipping with a brush

THE CLAIM:
  • Water resistant—yes it really is!
  • Long-lasting—in my experience, up to 5-6 hours
  • Crease-resistant—perhaps, but works best with eye primer
  • Highly pigmented—at first it appears slightly sheer, but after two coats it looks very black!
  • Glides on smoothly—yes!

This eyeshadow/liner is very versatile and I wouldn't mind purchasing it if I saw it on sale or half price, but I've been hearing that Maybelline version is as good if not better. Something for me to try next time!

Here I am wearing it with eyeshadow:

Quality: 4/5
Value: 3/5

Pigmentation: 4/5, sometimes 2nd coat required
Packaging: the brush is OK, but not great
Lasting Power: 4/5
Price: $$

Overall: 3.8/5

Would I buy it again? Yes! If I find a good deal.
