Review: Love & Beauty Natural and Smokey palettes by Forever 21

I have bought both the Natural Palette and the Smokey palette only a few months ago as an impulse buy. It was so hard to resist since it's only $6.90 USD per palette. Plus, I've been a loyal Forever 21 customer for over 5 years. It's definitely one of my favorite stores.

The palette consists of 10 eye shadow wells - tints and tones of brown/black - including shimmery brown/black, taupe, a variation of ochre, and golden brown.

Packaging: cute, animal print that has been spot varnished ( spots made glossy to stand out ). I was impressed that the packaging didn't fell apart after a month of using it. In fact, it's quite decent despite such low price. The palette comes with eyeliner, brush, and built-in mirror.

The quality of the eyeshadows is great - soft, blendable, and long lasting! A little bit powdery, but nicely pigmented. It also works perfectly with primer. SUPER! With the primer, the eyeshadows stayed on after my work out session - 1 hour of extreme sweating! I had to use eye makeup remover.

The ingredients include talc, petrolatum, mineral oil, and parabens... the stuff many people avoid. This is typical with drugstore and budget makeup - and hard to avoid since most major brands such as Maybelline, Revlon, NYC, WnW, Coastal Scents contain talc and parabens.

Something cool: the palettes have expiration dates on the back: mine expire in February 2014.

Overall, I am happy with this product and may end up trying other beauty products from Forever 21.

Quality: 4/5
Value: 5/5

Pigmentation: 4/5, slightly too powdery
Packaging: cute and trendy
Lasting Power: 4/5
Price: $

Overall: 4.5/5

Would I buy it again? Yes!
